For the first time in History, the Call of Duty League Championship is coming to Canada, marking a major milestone for Esports fans across the country. The event will welcome the world’s top Call of Duty Esports teams to Kitchener Memorial Auditorium from June 26-29, 2025. The Championship promises intense gameplay, an electric crowd and unforgettable highlights.
The event, presented hosted by OverActive Media alongside Toronto Ultra and Bell, is set to draw over 20,000 fans across four action packed days. As one of the most significant Esports events in Canadian history, it is expected to have a major economic impact on the Kitchener-Waterloo area, further cementing Canada’s growing presence in the Esports industry.
Neil Duffy, Chief Commercial Officer, Americas at Overactive Media expressed his excitement for the event:
“We’re really excited to host the Call of Duty Championship Weekend at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. It’s the marquee event of the year for the Call of Duty League and a must attend for any gaming fan!”
Often compared to the Super Bowl of Esports, the Call of Duty League Championship is more than just a competition: it’s a celebration of gaming culture, teamwork, and competitive excellence. Spectators can expect a thrilling best-of-nine grand final match, where one team will rise above the rest to claim the title of world champions.
The tournament features a high-stakes double-elimination format, pitting the top eight teams in the world against each other in a battle for supremacy. With $2 million on the line, teams will compete not just for the grand prize but also for international bragging rights and the coveted world championship title.
Cosmos Sports & Entertainment is assisting in ticket sales for the championship as part of its return to the Esports scene, ensuring that fans can experience the biggest Esports event ever hosted in Canada.
Cary Kaplan, Cosmos Sports President, is thrilled to be supporting the event:
“It is thrilling for Cosmos to be involved in one the largest E-Sports events in Canadian history. With 20,000 fans, and $2 million in prize, the growth of the sports continues to be spectacular”
