The green flag is set to drop on a new season of competitive go-kart racing at K1 Speed St. Catherines. The Challenge GP Race League is a competitive adult go-kart racing series beginning on September 30th that will bring local racers together each week to compete for points, prizes and ultimately, the season championship.
The series is structured as a five-week racing series, with competitors taking part in races every Wednesday night. Each race night will include two 10-lap qualifying sessions to determine starting positions, followed by a 12-lap final race. Competitors will earn points based on their results each week, with those points adding up throughout the series to determine the final standings and crown a season champion.
The entry fee to participate in the five-week league is $299 per competitor, giving racers the opportunity to compete throughout the entire season. In addition to bragging rights, competitors will have the chance to earn prizes based on their final points standings, with the top three finishers receiving racing packages valued at $200, $125 and $75, respectively.
The Challenge GP is designed for adult racers looking for a more competitive experience at K1 Speed. With five weeks of head-to-head competition, participants will race against familiar competitors, chase points, and look to improve their position in the standings each week. For racers who enjoy a little friendly competition, this series offers a chance to put their skills to the test and battle for the championship.
As the five-week series gets underway in just a few days, each lap, finishing position, and point is pivotal in deciding who will cross the finish line as the 2026 K1 Speed Challenge GP champion.
