THE BRAMPTON BEAST PARTNER WITH MAPLE LODGE FARMS TO PROVIDE A FUN FAN FOOD EXPERIENCE

ABOUT MAPLE LODGE FARMS

Reading Time: 3 minutes

In 1834 the May family arrived in Canada and settled on a farm just outside what is now Brampton, Ontario. Among the few things they brought was a proud tradition of hard work, agricultural wisdom and humble family values. They began selling chickens fresh from the farm, and the subsequent success led to formally establishing Maple Lodge Farms in 1955.

In 2015 Maple Lodge celebrated their 60th anniversary. They were (and still are!) the largest chicken processor in Canada.

ABOUT THE BRAMPTON BEAST

Founded in 2013 by President and General Manager, Cary Kaplan and Gregg Rosen of Kimco Steel Sales Ltd, the Brampton Beast Hockey Club are the proud ECHL affiliates of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and the AHL’s Belleville Senators. Since 2013, the Beast have provided families in Peel Region and across the GTA with entertainment and memories to last a lifetime. In addition to their free Sunday Skate program, the team partnered with the CAA Centre in 2019 to provide those new to skating the opportunity to learn in a safe and fun environment.

THE CHALLENGES

Maple Lodge first opened its doors in 1955, however their story dates back to 1834. Since then, they have been looking for unique ways to give back to the community of Brampton.

THE SOLUTION

Since 2014, Maple Lodge and the Beast have partnered together to bring a special game day to the Brampton community. Besides, what better way to experience food, than to have it shot out of a “Hot Dog Gun” 30 feet into air while fans try to catch the flying hot dog as it makes it’s way down from the rafters.

THE RESULTS

Every fan with a valid ticket receives one (1) FREE Maple Lodge hot dog, and the first 500 fans receive thunder sticks. While the Maple Lodge staff and family members enjoy the game from the MVP suite.

The “Hot Dog Guy.” As one of the more marketable aspects of this partnership, the Beast and Cosmos created a hot dog gun that the “Hot Dog Guy” or Boomer (mascot) uses to shoot hot dogs out of and into the audience during intermissions. This activation has become a popular form of entertainment at Beast games, especially on School Days.

“The Beast have demonstrated that hockey not only belongs in Brampton, but that professional sports are an integral part of this city and can have a profound and positive impact on the local community. We are proud to continue our partnership with the Beast in sponsoring an event that gives back to the local fan base.”
