After completing his undergraduate degree in Sport Management from Brock University, Jonathan was eager to expand his knowledge of both business and sport by enrolling in the Masters of Business Administration program at Brock University. Jonathan has since completed his MBA with a specialization in Marketing, equipping him with the creativity and design passion he initially set out to develop.
Being a passionate sports fan and sports participant, working in sports has always been a goal for Jonathan. He participated in various youth sports such as hockey, soccer, and baseball, as well as Ultimate Frisbee at the high school and university level. This has led to a continued and growing passion for working in sports.
While at Brock, Jonathan played Ultimate Frisbee and was eventually named president of the team handling all of the administrative duties for the team such as tournament booking and registration, ordering team merchandise, and managing team fees. Additionally, Jonathan interned at the Centre for Sport Capacity at Brock University, a research hub that worked with sport organizations from the community level to the national level, focused on knowledge mobilization. Specifically, putting research-based evidence to work, and finding practical solutions to the challenges facing sport leaders. At the Centre, Jonathan interned as the Marketing, Communications and Event Coordinator. He made significant contributions coordinating social media campaigns, and designing promotional material using his creative and innovative ideas. He also took on a strong leadership role in the event management and planning for three of the Centre’s events during his fall term position.
Jonathan previously interned at Cosmos as the Digital Media and Marketing Executive, where he worked with the team to create graphics, content, and develop marketing strategies for social media and Cosmos’ various clients, including the Toronto Rush and the Brantford Red Sox. Following his internship, and the completion of his MBA, Jonathan was hired full-time as the Communications Coordinator at Cosmos, where he now continues to apply his marketing expertise and passion for game-day operations.
