Rimi
Olatunji

Rimi Olatunji graduated from Providence College and George Brown College with a background in Sport and Event Marketing. He got his start in the industry as a professional soccer player, first with Forge FC in the Canadian Premier League, then most recently in Austria, before stepping away from the game to further his education.

Rimi grew up in the Toronto FC Academy, where years of competitive soccer built the discipline and team-first mindset he still relies on today. Having played the game at a high level, he wanted to move to the other side of it: building the partnerships and opportunities that make sports happen for athletes and organizations across the industry. That’s what pulled him into a career in sports business.

Rimi contributes to Cosmos Sports & Entertainment as a Business Development Assistant on the Franchise Sales team, a role that spans properties across sports, not just one. His work includes building prospect lists of leagues and teams across North America and researching local programs and community organizations to support outreach and partnerships. He also coordinates meetings with prospective owners, presidents, and board members, writes outreach emails to open new conversations, and takes notes during meetings to keep follow-ups and internal strategy on track.

Outside of work, Rimi plays soccer, works out, meal preps, and spends time with his dog. He’s a Manchester United fan and enjoys watching basketball, football, and volleyball as well. His music rotation runs through Afrobeats, Afrohouse (3-Step), R&B, and rap, with Asake, Dlala Thukzin, and Lucki in heavy rotation. As he continues building his career in sports business, Rimi is looking to take on more responsibility, broaden his experience across different properties and partnerships, and grow into a bigger role within the industry.
