Milton Magic FC has strengthened its technical leadership with the appointment of former Canadian international and veteran MLS defender Doneil Henry as the club’s new Technical Director for the Male Program.

Henry steps into the role following the conclusion of a 13-year professional playing career that saw him compete across Major League Soccer, Europe, and Asia. His journey began with Toronto FC, where he became the club’s first homegrown signing and established himself as a key contributor over five seasons before moving abroad to pursue opportunities in England and Denmark. His return to North America included standout periods with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Los Angeles FC, Toronto FC, and Minnesota United, before finishing his career with the Halifax Wanderers in the Canadian Premier League.

Internationally, Henry earned 44 caps for Canada, debuting as a teenager and playing a key role throughout the country’s qualification process for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His experience at the highest levels of the game, both domestically and abroad, positions him as a significant addition to the club’s technical team.

Alongside his new position with Milton Magic FC, Henry continues his involvement in Canadian soccer through his ongoing leadership role with Simcoe County Rovers FC of League1 Ontario.

At Milton Magic FC, Henry will guide player development initiatives, elevate coaching standards, and support the club’s long-term technical strategy. Working in collaboration with Sporting Director David Benning and Female Program Technical Director Cristina Romanelli, he will help shape a unified development model aimed at providing young athletes with a clear and competitive pathway.

Henry’s arrival represents a major step forward for Milton Magic FC as the club continues to invest in high-quality programming and build a sustainable development structure for players within the community. His background at the professional level and commitment to advancing Canadian talent are expected to have a meaningful impact on the club’s growth and future success.
