Women's Football's Biggest Weekend has Arrived

By Robbie Zaitchik | June 19, 2026

The biggest weekend in women’s football has finally arrived!

From June 19–21, the Women’s National Football Conference will take over Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas for the 2026 IX Cup Championship Weekend. The event will bring together the best of the best in women’s tackle football, flag football, and youth competition.

The weekend is headlined by the WNFC Championship Game on Sunday, June 21, featuring the undefeated and defending champions, Texas Elite Spartans facing off against the 7-1 San Diego Rebellion. The matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN2, giving fans across the country a chance to watch women’s professional tackle football on one of the biggest sports platforms in North America.

This year’s championship weekend comes at an exciting time for the WNFC, as the league has continued to build momentum since launching in 2019. Whether it’s the stronger attendance, growing sponsorship support, increased streaming viewership, or more attention around its athletes, there’s never been more buzz around the league. According to WNFC Founder and CEO Odessa Jenkins, the league saw attendance rise by 25 percent this season, while individual players are landing more opportunities and brand deals than ever before.

Fans can also experience Flag Football Day, WNFC Fan Fest, the Varsity Top 100 Tournament presented by Adidas, the Adult National Flag Championship, AJ Greene 1-on-1 competitions, and much more action throughout the weekend. WNFC Fan Fest will also feature interactive brand activations, giveaways, games, and exclusive fan experiences, creating a full football festival atmosphere.

The WNFC’s growth also reflects a larger shift in the sports industry. Women’s sports continue to draw bigger audiences, stronger investment, and more mainstream coverage. With ESPN2 broadcasting the championship game and the league aiming to reach one million viewers, the IX Cup represents another significant step forward for women’s football.

Cosmos Sports & Entertainment is proud to support the WNFC during this exciting moment by helping drive ticket sales and awareness for Championship Weekend. As the league continues to grow, Cosmos is excited to play a role in helping more fans experience the energy, talent, and impact of women’s football.

Tickets for the championship game start at $25, with the Sunday event also featuring a halftime performance by Roc Nation artist SBR Peezy.
